Program Development

IMG_7502_edited.jpg

The Planted Brain offers Therapeutic Horticulture Program Development services for healthcare organizations, nonprofits, community-based organizations, and social service agencies looking to integrate nature-based healing into their existing programming.

We partner with organizations to design, implement, and evaluate customized therapeutic horticulture programs that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with the populations you serve.

Our program development process begins with a comprehensive needs assessment and site visit, followed by curriculum development, staff training, outcome measurement framework design, and ongoing clinical consultation.

As a registered CBO with active partnerships across Los Angeles County — including collaborations with Jericho Road of Pasadena, and Medi-Cal managed care organizations — we bring both clinical expertise and community credibility to every partnership.

For ECM prime contractors and Medi-Cal managed care plans, The Planted Brain is available as a Community Supports subcontractor under existing CalAIM contracts, delivering therapeutic horticulture programming to enrolled members without requiring additional Medi-Cal enrollment on our end.

We believe every organization has the capacity to bring healing into its spaces — we are here to help you build it.

Therapeutic Horticulture Workshops

Our Therapeutic Horticulture Workshops bring together hands-on plant activities, somatic exercises, trauma-informed psychoeducation, and peer connection to create healing experiences that meet people where they are — in community, not in a clinic.

Each workshop is designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and social connection for individuals experiencing homelessness, trauma, severe mental illness, and the everyday weight of living in an under-resourced community.

The Planted Brain is a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) actively partnering with Medi-Cal managed care organizations and Enhanced Care Management (ECM) providers across Los Angeles County to bring therapeutic horticulture programming to Medi-Cal-enrolled members as a community support service. Our workshops are free or low-cost to community participants and available for subcontracting through existing CalAIM

Community Supports funding — no additional enrollment required. Whether delivered at a partner site, a community garden, or your organization's facility, our workshops are a powerful complement to clinical care and a meaningful step toward healing for the whole person.

Individual and Family Support

Digital Nomad

At The Planted Brain, we believe healing happens at every level — in the garden, in the group, and in the therapy room. Our Individual and Family Support services provide accessible, trauma-informed psychotherapy for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, life transitions, and the impacts of systemic stress and historical trauma.

Sessions are available via telehealth, ensuring that geographic barriers, mobility limitations, and the stigma of seeking in-person care never stand between someone and the support they deserve.

Most major insurance plans are accepted, and sliding scale options are available for those who qualify. Our clinical services are offered as part of The Planted Brain's holistic approach to community mental health — rooted in the same values of dignity, accessibility, and whole-person care that guide all of our work.
